The Rector also brought good news regarding academic progress at UIN Mataram, where a promotion hearing for 24 lecturers to the positions of Head Lecturer and Professor is currently underway. He emphasized that these career opportunities are equally available to lecturers at Private Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIS).

Furthermore, the Rector conveyed several crucial messages for educators: The presence and discipline of lecturers in the classroom are very vital. In addition, the renewal of knowledge and experience thru activities like PKDP is a necessity. Lecturers must continue to be productive in writing and publishing scientific works, considering that UIN Mataram currently manages 30 reputable journals, which are also integrated with journals in PTKIS.

Facing the increasingly competitive challenges of the education world, the Rector emphasized that campuses (both PTKIN and PTKIS) must become open and moderate spaces. This flexibility of thot is expected to foster a society that loves peace and maintains national order.

Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia: Preparing Lecturers as Problem Solvers. The opening ceremony was also attended by the rectorate leadership, the Director of Postgraduate Studies, the Deans, the Secretary of Kopertais, as well as Dr. KH. Aziz Hakim, MH, the Subdirector of Manpower at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, who was present to provide special guidance.

Dr. KH. Aziz Hakim explained that in the past, lecturers often did not have the opportunity to receive adequate training related to the preparation of the Semester Learning Plan (RPS), teaching methods, and scientific writing. “Through this PKDP, lecturers are equipped with competencies in planning, scientific integration, and religious moderation. The PKDP graduation certificate is valid for a lifetime and can continue to be used until the participants officially hold the status of certified professional lecturers,” explained Dr. KH. Aziz Hakim.

He concluded his address with a grand vision related to the ultimate goal of this program:
“If the competence of lecturers has been developed and they succeed in becoming professional educators, then the ultimate goal is the creation of outstanding students who are ready to go into society as problem solvers.” For the next three days, all participants are expected to demonstrate seriousness, discipline, and high optimism so that the benefits of the PKDP 2026 activities can be maximally absorbed and implemented at their respective campuses.
